The Anchorage Press and Title Wave Books in Anchorage decided to sponsor a haiku contest. Scott and I read about it at the White Spot Cafe, during one of our increasingly frequent Friday night outings. "Wow! What a fun idea!" we thought, and intended to enter something, probably in the Subaru category. Then we forgot all about it. Until yesterday that is.

The leonid meteor shower was at it's most active yesterday, so we drove out to Scott's Aunt Linda and Uncle John's home. Snow and clouds precluded meteor viewing, so we sat around the kitchen table, talking. And turns out John and Linda had entered a ton of haiku's. They read them to us, and we were inspired.

On the drive home this afternoon, we jotted down a bunch.
