Uh-oh indeed.
Our gorgeous cranberry couch does not fit into the guest/media/family/computer room. There's a funny hook to the hallway just outside the room, caused in part by the living room fireplace. Scott and the delivery men made a valiant attempt to coax the couch into the room, but the un-yielding walls, ceiling, and door jambs triumphed.
So
the couch is languishing in the living room (amongst the yet to be unpacked
boxes boxes boxes), where the only individual enjoying it is Abby. We did not
purchase a couch for the dog's comfort.
After
measuring and cursing, it appears we'll need to remove the door, the door stop,
the door jamb, and possibly the header stud, before the couch will fit. We considered
the possiblity of disassembling the couch, but fortunately realized that while
we have the necessary knowledge to repair drywall, couches are beyond our ken.
We're resorting to power tools. Soon.
