RAVE!

Restaurant Raves:

Taco King--It's a hole in the wall, locally owned. Try the Chile Verde Dinner, or the Chicken Soup

White Spot--Another hole in the wall, also locally owned.  Wait until someone asks for your order, you'll get an earful otherwise. Order the Halibut Sandwich. Pretty much everything comes with fries.

Haute Grill--It's in Eagle River, we first ate there a couple of years ago. It is consistently a nice, tasty dining experience. Everything is fantastic, but we particularly enjoy the humble chicken pasta dish, and the roast peppers, goat cheese, w/toast points appetizer.

Dino's Donuts--It's hard to go wrong with a mixed dozen. I like them better than Krispy Kremes (unless the Krispy Kreme in question is hot and fresh off the conveyer belt)

Wok Express--Don't let the name put you off. Our delivery order of Ginger Beef and Sweet & Sour Pork (no onions, please), was hot and wonderfully tasty. The Sweet & Sour was packaged as individual components, allowing us to control the amount of sauce anointing our tasty little nuggets of porky goodness. The Ginger Beef was tender, flavorful, and really yummy.

Other Raves:

Muldoon Shell (previously Texaco)--at Muldoon Rd and E 6th Ave in Anchorage, Alaska. Full service at Self service prices is their motto, and they seem to be doing just that! A very nice gentleman pumped our gas, and checked the fluid levels of our Geo this evening (June 1, 2002). Scott was so surprised that he forgot to turn the car off. When's the last time someone pumped your gas for you (outside of Oregon)?

Dog Wash, Inc--With Abby's penchant for rolling in smelly stuff, and her skin problems, we spend a lot of time washing her. Forgot bathing your dog in the bath tub - it's slippery for the dog, hard on your back, and terrible for your drains. The Dog Wash has raised, shallow, tubs. Coax your dog into it (aided by a dog sized step stool), hitch them up to the post, and away you go. Your session buys unlimited hot water, as much soap as necessary, scrubby things, towels, and a round with the dog dryer cave. You are also provided an apron, and they clean up for you - yeah! I can't say that Abby _likes_ going to the Dog Wash, but she tolerates it very well, and the bottomless dog treats go a long ways to improving her outlook on baths.

We'll keep adding to this...
