We're finally moving! We began living in the new place towards the end of October, after we got the bed and some essentials moved in. More about moving later. We still have some stuff at Uncle Walter's, but we're making progress. In addition to being in the throes of moving, we have to acquire some furniture.

The latest quest has been for the perfect couch. Scott used to live with a really long green couch ('ooh, the green couch'), upon which he could stretch full length. Sadly, the green couch moved on to different owners many years ago. So we've been searching for a couch that made comfy sitting for both of us (no mean task when there's over a foot of difference in our heights), and was long enough for Scott to stretch out. We did not want a sofa bed, nor a futon.

We found a cranberry colored couch we really liked at ScanHome, but it was too expensive. So we kept looking. Then this weekend, we found a couch that was really comfortable, but tremendously ugly. We decided to go back to ScanHome to revisit the cranberry couch, before resigning ourselves to ugly furniture.

YEAH! The cranberry couch was on sale! And since it converts into a double bed, we solved our guest accomodation problem! The cranberry couch has maple end pieces, the fabric is a heavy cotton something with a nice weave, and when you lift the bottom to turn it into a bed, a hidden blanket compartment is revealed.

It's really comfy, is long enough for Scott to stretch out, and we think it's gorgeous.

Uh-oh
