High wind warning for Anchorage tonight.
Boy howdy!
The neighbor against our back fence just lost two of his REALLY tall cottonwood trees. One looks like it may have hit his house.
We moved ourselves, Elizabeth and the dogs away from the back of the house into the living room in case the other one comes down.
High wind indeed.
This morning we got up and surveyed the damage. Our neighbor says he was having a smoke on the back deck when the first one came down. The photo doesn’t capture the immensity of it. One of the trunks came down in the V of a second set of cottonwoods. It split and skinned the second set, so the neighbors will have that pair removed as well.
We are grateful the wind didn’t push the trees into our home. It would have crashed thru the bedrooms.
