The cut has healed. Two courses of antibiotics (major hit to my lactation efforts) no infection. There is what I assume to be scar tissue beneath and alongside the cut. Wrist hurts (carpal tunnel-y) and thumb joint hurts (arthritis-y). Numbness lingers from the cut to the tips of the thumb and index finger on the back and along the inside edge of the thumb. Grasp is weak. Painful to touch in the numb areas (how can something be simultaneously numb and painful?). Saw a hand surgeon – nerves will heal and hand looks good to him. Follow up in a couple weeks and probably physical therapy to desensitize the hand.
